For most users, the mobile app is the easiest to set up. Once installed, simply open the app and scan the QR code found in your 3CX Web Client (usually located in the top-right corner or under "Settings").

There are now two main ways to use 3CX on Windows. Option A is the modern standard for most businesses in 2026.
Option A: The 3CX Windows Softphone (Microsoft Store)
This is the recommended "New" app. It is lightweight, manages calls beautifully, and updates automatically via the store.
Windows: Download from the Microsoft Store
Option B: The 3CX Desktop App (PWA)
If your company doesn't allow Microsoft Store access, use the PWA (Progressive Web App).
Log in to your company’s 3CX Web Client (the URL in your Welcome Email).
Click the "Install" icon (a small computer/arrow) in the browser address bar.
This creates a shortcut on your desktop that works exactly like a native app.
These allow you to click any phone number on a website to dial it instantly through your 3CX app.

If you are helping a new user, remind them to search their inbox for "Welcome to 3CX." This system-generated email contains:
Their Extension Number and PIN.
Their Login Link for the Web Client.
Their Voicemail PIN for using physical desk phones.
